Una d’argento, quella di Katharina Fink nel singolare femminile e l’altra di bronzo, quella finita al collo di Giovanni Toti nel singolare maschile. Sono queste due le ultime due medaglie targate Team Italia all’U19 Irish Open 2018 di Dublino.

 

La Fink ha giocato una grande semifinale contro l’inglese Abbie Smith, imponendosi in due set (21-15; 21-14); nel match conclusivo la quindicenne di Bolzano opposta all’indiana Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka, numero 49 del ranking mondiale e 5 del ranking junior, ha dovuto cedere in due parziali (21-8; 21-10), facendo comunque sua un’ottima medaglia d’argento.

 

Bronzo invece per Toti, che in semifinale opposto al padrone di casa e 76 del ranking mondiale Nhat Nguyen, è stato stoppato in due set (21-11; 21-9) dall’irlandese.

 

Concluso questo torneo, con delle ottime sensazioni, gli azzurrini metteranno adesso la testa sui Campionati Europei Junior di Tallinn in Estonia che gli vedranno impegnati dal 7 al 16 Settembre.
